Katy Perry just gave birth to her first baby with Orlando Bloom!

The singer and her fiancé are officially parents to Daisy Dove Bloom, their first child together. The celebrity couple shared the fantastic news with UNICEF on Wednesday, August 26, where they serve as Goodwill Ambassadors.

They said in a statement that they are floating with love and wonder from the safe arrival of their daughter. But according to them, they are the lucky ones because not everybody can have a peaceful birthing experience like theirs. They shared that communities around the world have shortage of healthcare workers and that a pregnant woman or newborn dies every eleven seconds and most of these cases could’ve been prevented. They explained that since the pandemic, many of these newborns are more at risk because they don’t have access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines. They added that being parents to a newborn, their hearts are breaking as they empathize with struggling parents.

Katy and Orlando decided to establish a UNICEF donation page on their daughter’s behalf in celebration of the heart their daughter already has.

Daisy or “DDB” as they fondly call her arrived on Wednesday and turned the Grammy-nominated singer into a first-time mother. However, this is the second child for Orlando who already has a son with ex-wife Miranda Kerr named Flynn who is nine years old.

The famous parents got engaged in February 2019 after being in an on-and-off relationship for years. They announced they were pregnant in the most creative way with Katy cradling her baby bump in her music video for her single, “Never Worn White”. A month later, the proud mom-to-be revealed that they were having a baby girl.

Katy’s first pregnancy journey took place during the pandemic making it an experience filled with mix emotions. During an interview with Mic 104.1’s Karson & Kennedy, she was overwhelmed, anxious, happy, and overjoyed. She also mentioned being depressed. She added that the world is a wild time and it’s also a wild time to bring new life into the world.

In a recent interview with E!’s Daily Pop, she already knows what kind of mom she’ll be like. According to her, she’s going to be a fun, firm, and fair mom. She likes getting things done and creating a peaceful scene. She was also sure that their daughter will grow up as daddy’s little girl.
